I have been a practicing artist for over ten years. In this time I have worked commercially, on community projects and on my own personal projects. I have a solid foundation in traditional drawing and have recently completed a BA Animation , the only degree course in Australia with a focus on the production process of character animation, including character design, storyboarding and technical layout.

Commercially I have worked as a freelance animator, illustrator and graphic designer. I have had experience in garment and merchandise design and manufacturing. Most recently I have been working as a 'Flash' animator on a broadcast quality series for the international market.

In the community sector I have been involved in numerous arts based projects including the establishment of a youth radio station and, the development of and a Youth Arts Center and Gallery.

Personal projects that I have undertaken include, both group and solo art exhibitions, and most recently animation content development for the international market.

Through my career experience I have developed a flexible, professional and dynamic approach to working with a variety of clients and on a diverse range of projects that combines creativity with commercial outcomes. This has allowed me to learn from diversity and develop a range of skills that are transferable to any environment. I have gained significant professional experience in a variety of settings, both in Australia and Asia and I am able to work independently or as part of a team

Work History

DOGSTAR- Animation Series

Animator – Children’s Television Series

A full time contract utilizing Flash MX to animate multiple character scenes, following very developed storyboards. Animation included lip sync to the vocal track and complex camera moves. existing flash libraries from previous episodes were utilized when applicable but often specific elements were created when needed. Dogstar utilized the Nelvana 'Nelnet', a Canadian animation server, to manage production distribution and as an animator I was responsible for the download and upload of my personal work.

Working within a small team of animators we did long hours on a tight deadline producing highest quality broadcast animation for the international market.

Dogstar has been sold to Channel 9 in Australia, BBC, Disney Channel, Germany’s ZDF and recently returned from Mipcom where it attracted further international sales

Freelance work to provide a character graphic to accompany the already established Kidz Bodz logo. The new Logo would be utilized for Vehicles, Banners, Print material and the Web. I provided a number of poses of the character for different formats. The Character was based on the proprietor of the business.

This was a great project to work on,Orange Bird is a little known character developed by Walt Disney himself as a tribute to the the Orange growing region around DisneyLand, Orange County. The character is used primarily in Asia as a Disney property.

I was contracted to do the clean up of the original animations using Illustrator to create the sharp vector look.
